We sat down with Kaylin for an inside scoop into the world of player agents, specifically her representation by Bokamoso Sports Agency, also known as "B Sports". What unfolded was an insightful discussion that revealed the entangled workings of the football world and the profound impact of having a dedicated player agent. Swart shared her journey, the motivations behind her choices, and invaluable advice for aspiring athletes looking for representation and guidance.

The Motivation Behind Bokamoso Sports Agency

When asked about her decision to sign with Bokamoso Sports Agency, Swart shared how the vision of the agency captured her attention. "When I first heard about B Sports, I was intrigued from the get-go, [I was] intrigued with what their vision was. I had many chats with the team, and what got me was the need to provide and tackle most, if not all the struggles we face as female athletes."

The Signing Process

The process of signing with Bokamoso was a meticulous one, involving detailed consultations and a thorough understanding of her aspirations. “When Jess [Jessica Nkomo] approached me, it took me a couple of meetings to decide if this is where I want to be. I knew from the start that they are serious about wanting to be an agent for the athlete and not for their personal gain. Weeks went by thinking about it and when I decided to sign for the agency, it was a process of back and forth with what my needs are, and they continue to work with me on it until this day."

Standout Attributes of Bokamoso Sports Agency

Swart revealed how the presence of female representatives and unwavering support to their client makes Bokamoso special. "A lot of what stood out for me is the fact that they are led by fearless women who want to push the boundaries for us athletes. They care about us, they know what’s needed and they care a lot about our well being."

Aligning with Career Goals

For Swart, the alignment of Bokamoso Sports Agency with her career goals has been transformative and has played a pivotal role in aligning with her career goals. "B Sports will always find a way to provide us with an opportunity to expose us as a brand, they align with my aspirations and what I value in my career by always doing what’s best for me as their athlete.” She added, “Their vision is to grow female athletes on and off the field, and for me that’s important because we work tirelessly on the field to expose ourselves and they are right behind us."

Positive Impact

The impact of Bokamoso on Swart’s career has been profound and the Banyana Banyana goalie shared a recent example of the agency’s impact on her career. "In the time I have been with B Sports, I have been exposed to opportunities and had networking events I never thought I’d be involved in.”

“B Sports has many partnerships, and one was an event I was invited to by Vodacom through B Sports, where I was a guest speaker, and until this day I am in contact with a huge company like that. They value their relationships in business and that carries throughout the agency and has made me want to have a positive impact out there."

The Importance of Agency Representation

Swart emphasised the critical role of having an agency represent you. "Having representation in today’s sporting world is so important, the game has grown, the exposure is more than ever and being with an agency that works for you and with you is huge. The demands of being an elite athlete these days require so much attention that a lot of things can be missed. I am thankful for B Sports because they alleviate that pressure.”

Advice for Young Athletes Considering Agency Representation

“It’s important for young aspiring athletes to think about the agency they choose to be with, [it should be] someone that will take care of them and have their needs met and above all else their well-being." How UWC Football is producing National team players

Aligning Career Goals with Personal Aspirations

For Kaylin, Bokamoso Sports isn't just an agency; they're partners in her journey. “B Sports is made up of incredible women who believe in you and your craft, they continue to help me balance my life on and off the field by always being by my side when I need them, and they really work hard on building my brand.”
