Momentum Proteas Embark on Crucial Tour to India

The Momentum Proteas gear up for an enthralling tour to India set to take place from 10 June - 9 July. The tour promises an entertaining display of cricketing prowess as the Proteas lock horns with their Indian counterparts in a series comprising three ODI matches, a pivotal Test match, and three T20Is.

Following the departure of long service coach Hilton Moreeng, assistant coach Dillion du Preez took over the role of interim coach on this tour. South Africa have announced the ODI and Test squad, with the T20I to be announced at a later stage. Team captain Laura Wolvaardt, has emphasised how the game time she got playing for the Gurajat Giants at the Women’s Premier League (WPL) was crucial for her to get used and be familiar with the playing conditions in India.

Wolvaardt added that although India plays a lot of cricket compared to the Momentum Proteas and possess world class players, the team have done their homework and are looking to have their plans work out in the first match.


Although the matches commence on Sunday, 16 June, South Africa will play an ODI warm up match against Board President XI in preparations to the first ODI.
