This is the  teams’ seventh matchup in the history of their Hollywoodbets Super League encounters, the stage was set back in 2021 when they met for the first time at the home of UWC.

The match ended in a 3-1 victory for UWC at home, showcasing their early dominance in this fixture. JVW hosted UWC later that same season and were unfortunate in turning the tables with an identical 1-3 scoreline in favour of the visitors.

In 2022, the rivalry only intensified as both teams played out nail-biting 0-0 draws in their home and away fixtures, showcasing their defensive prowess and the closely contested nature of their battles.

It was in 2023 that the Western Cape team truly asserted their dominance, claiming victory in both home and away encounters. At home, they secured a convincing 2-0 win through Khanya Xesi and Fikile Magama, while on the road, they edged out JVW with a narrow 1-0 triumph from Khanya Xesi’s strike.

What sets this matchup apart is UWC's remarkable track record against JVW. In their six clashes thus far, UWC has never tasted defeat, a fact that looms large over JVW as they seek to rewrite history.

At the heart of UWC's defensive solidity stands goalkeeper Regirl Ngobeni, whose heroics between the posts have resulted in an impressive four consecutive clean sheets against JVW.

For JVW, it's not just about securing a win; it's about breaking the cycle of defeat and proving that they have what it takes to triumph in this rivalry.

Meanwhile, UWC will stop at nothing to maintain their unblemished record against their rivals and cement their status as the team to beat in the Hollywoodbets Super League.
